Learn More About Me
Working under the project entitled AI for Humanitarians: Shaping Future Innovation with START Network Bangladesh. We are developing the a Generative AI model which will help the farmers exposed to flash floods at Bangladesh in decision making for various conditions.
Additionally, I am working on developing Machine Learning Models for flash flood early warning for the North Eastern region of Bangladesh using Synoptical scale climatic variables i.e. Integrated Vapor Transport.
Masters Thesis Title: Impacts of the Atmospheric River on extreme rainfall of the Meghna Basin.
Enthusiastic for decoding the water resource related problems using the integration of technology and the nature. The arenas of research of which I have predilection are provided below although it is not confined to this topics only.

Developing a Machine Learning model for flash flood early warning covering the North Eastern region of Bangladesh. The model will utilize synoptic scale climatic variables, i.e. Integrated Vapor Transport, Wind Speed etc. for detecting Extreme rainfall in Meghalaya, India.
Institue of Water and Flood Management (IWFM), BUET, Dhaka, Bangladesh
Working with the 4A group for carrying out the research regarding the effetiveness of FbA to reduce flood vulnerability. The responsibility included Hydrologic Modeling, Inundation Mapping using satellite data, Field based data collection and processing from the community, and evaluation of existing flash flood early warning in Bangladesh.

My Research
It is a academic collaboration of seven universities over the world to evaluate the existing practice of Forecast based Financing (FbF) in each of the member countries. Additionally, further research has been carried out to identify the gaps in the current practice and bolster the conventional methodology.
In Bangladesh, Forecast based Financing (FbF) is a recent concept which is currently provided to the flood vulnerable people living in the brahmaputra river floodplain prior to the flood for their rehabilitation and adaption with the help of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS).
Currently, We are focusing on evaluating the effectiveness of FbA for reducing flood vulnerability and integration of FbA with the existing social protection schemes. Recently, We are studying the feasibility of FbA in mitigating the vulnerability of Flash Flood affected prople in the North Eastern Region of Bangladesh. Hence, we are analyzing the extreme flood events (such as: Flood in the Meghna Basin which inundated 75-80% of the total district for prolonged period) with the help of hydrological modeling, inundation mapping using remote sensing (from SAR and optical images), and statistical analysis (frequency analysis and more). Addtionally, we are performing socio-economic analysis using PRA tools.
The inundation mapping of the meghna basin has been prepared for the detection of the probable reason of the prolonged flood in these area in this year due to the record breaking rainfall (Highest 3 days Cumulative rainfall in 102 Years) in Meghalaya and Cherapunji of India. Google Earth Engine (GEE) has been used for the map preparation.

Qualitative data have been collected from Kurigram and Jamalpur, exposed to sever floods, regarding the effectiveness of FbA in reducing their flood vulnerability using PRA tools (FGD, KII, Informal Discussions). The themes on which the methodology is based on are community's vulnerability reduction, effect of early warning on their usage of FbA, People spending prioriy, integration of social protection and FbA and more.
The web application was prepared to estimate the angle of internal friciton of sility sand soil using the grain size analyse and SPT-N test results using machine learning models. An article was published in Goemechanics and Geoengineering journal based on this study. The web app is deployed in Heruko Plateform.
